First of all we should appologise to the neighbours. If you weren't actually at the gig it must have been a bit of a sonic surprise and I'm very sorry to have disturbed your peace and quiet. But in our defence, it wasn't our fault, the record breaking heatwave made us do it.

That said, our first foray into the great outdoors went spectacularly well. We weren't exactly sure how to set the space up but our sound system worked perfectly and even the lights, perched as they were in a nearby gutter, seemed to cope when the late June sun finally went down. I'd never spent much time in the part of the Pottery but the space outside the back of the main building is every bit as magical as the inside. It has the feel of a beautiful Victorian village street (note to Alex, contact location scouts at film companies immediately) and the shade from the buildings and a cool breeze made it a very comfortable space for everyone.

It was a sell out crowd and everybody turned up wearing colourful hot weather attire and brought extra chilled wine and beer. Ice creams were on sale in the intervals and business was brisk.

The music too was magical. Artists that play here all agree, the Pottery brings out their very best and this night was no exception. The amazing Tomorrow Bird, the truly exceptional Tom Gamble and the totally mind blowing ElTel who finished their set exactly 5 minutes before the heavens opened for a much needed deluge of rain which scattered the crowd and sent us all into a tis switching things off and getting the electronics inside.

So, I hope the neighbours enjoyed the show even though they hadn't really bargained for it, we certainly did, keep an eye out on the website and the YouTube channel to the see the video clips (when I get a chance to edit them up).

People asked me, when we might do an outside gig again. I'd have to say there are no plans to repeat it. The English weather being what it is makes it impossible to plan such a thing but, subject to neighbour reactions, I wouldn't rule it out.
